This exhibition is an annual shortlisted showcase of contemporary works by Muslim-Australian artists. Featuring diverse approaches to both visual and Islamic art forms, the exhibition celebrates the rich cultural heritage, creative innovation, and multifaceted identities of Muslim artists today.

This piece, “With Every hardhip I&II”, was created during a deep personal period of divorce and custody proceedings. This diptych draws its title from the Quranic verse:
”Verily, with hardship comes ease” (Quran 94:5)

The works serve as both a spiritual affirmation and a quiet act of resistance, confronting the systemic challenges faced by Muslim women in Sri lanka, particularly under the Muslim Marriage and Divorce Act, a law under scrutiny since the 1980s.
